We Can Handle It!!!

Important information about scheduling and steps involved for painting game lines, logos, designs and lettering on synthetic surfaces such as Rubber, VCT Tile, Gerflor, Rexcourt, Mondo, Etc. :

When scheduling painting of new or repainting of existing Game Lines, Logos, Lettering, Etc. on your Synthetic Court or Running Track, there are a few things you should be aware of.  The paint we use for Synthetic materials and surfaces is ENDURA 2-part epoxy paint made by Can Am Coatings of California.  It is by far The Best Paint available for use!  There are comparable, cheaper paints available but in our 25 years we have discovered that if applied properly, Endura cannot be beaten for it's adhesion, durability, shine and vibrant colors and unless otherwise instructed, it is the brand we will be using for your project.  the ONLY type of paint that will adhere to a Synthetic Surface is an Epoxy paint and all Epoxy based paints have a very strong odor.  If your gymnasium or running track is connected to classrooms or offices, all entrances and connections to other rooms and areas will need to be sealed as airtight as possible to prevent the paint odor from entering and possibly causing discomfort to students and employees.  Below is a list of things you should know before scheduling a Synthetic Surface project.

  1. Size of existing court / courts to be repainted or if new construction: desired lines, logos, lettering, etc to be installed.
  2. Color and quantity of courts or lines to be installed.  For example: 1 main basketball in Black, 2 side court basketball in Red, 1 main volleyball in Blue, 3 badminton across main basketball in yellow, etc.
  3. Manufacturer, Name, Color of surface to be painted and pictures if possible of installed surface.  Some surfaces require additional steps such as primers on certain brands of Rubber and VCT tile and or a "barrier clear" to seal the taped edge and prevent color bleeds on rougher textured surfaces.
  4. Floor or Surfaces to be painted should be cleaned with a neutral cleaner and free of all wax, oil and dirt.  Flaking/chipping paint should be removed prior to our arrival.
  5. Epoxy paint has very strong vapors. Preventive measures should be taken such as scheduling work after hours as well as sealing windows and doors so that paint vapor and smell stay contained in the area being painted.  Odors may cause students and faculty discomfort.  Doors to outside can be opened to provide vapor exhaust and fresh air.
  6. The manufacturer recommends 3 days of curing before foot traffic, 1 week after completion for game play and 1 month before automated cleaning or waxing.  A chemical can be added to the paint to cut these curing times by half and will be added upon request for an additional charge.

Important information about scheduling Wall Murals for your school:

Wall Murals and Wall Lettering should be scheduled in the months of October through June of the following year due to the high demand of our gymnasium floor painting of game lines, logos and lettering as well as gym floor restoration during summer break for schools and colleges.  We are usually booked solid

including weekends on gymnasium floors during the days allowed students for summer break.  All Wall Murals and Lettering projects scheduled during days that students are present and in school, will be scheduled for evenings, nights and weekends after students have been released for the day or week to minimize disruption of normal activities unless permission to work on project during school hours is granted. Paint used is a durable, fade resistant quick drying paint with deep vibrant colors and will be dry before students return for classes the next day.
